It was alleged that the defendant (female) and co-defendant (male) invaded the home of a male acquaintance, beat him, robbed him, and fled the scene. Mr. Molle’s client was facing a life sentence.
The Defense
At trial, Mr. Molle argued that his client (along with the co-defendant) went to the alleged victim’s home to collect money that was owed to her. The case came down to the alleged victim’s word against Mr. Molle’s client’s word. Mr. Molle cross-examined the alleged victim and by the time he finished, the remainder of the case was a formality. His client’s innocence was established through an aggressive cross-examination of the alleged victim.
